Gwendolyn Sue Sheridan Magee

September 10, 1939 - June 09, 2021

Gwendolyn “Sue” Sheridan Magee, age 81 and of Bogalusa, LA, went to her heavenly home on June 9, 2021. A life-long resident of Bogalusa, Sue was born September 10, 1939, to Bolivar and Dorothy Sheridan.  Sue was married to Billy Magee for 58 years and raised 4 children in a loving family.

First and foremost, Sue loved and served the Lord in many capacities at Highland Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church and Lee’s Creek Baptist Church.

Sue was a Loan Officer and Branch Manager at First State Bank and Trust Co. and a member of the Bogalusa Civic League.  Sue served as Citizens Women’s Ambassador Program of People to People International to China and Russia where she was awarded the 1980 Woman of the Year.  She served as local and state President of Business and Professional Women’s Club.  She was also a member of Eastern Star.  Sue was an avid sports fan who also loved to play golf and travel with her husband.

She is survived by daughters, Sherry Seal of Bogalusa, Linda (Dennis) Mitchell of Baton Rouge, and Beverly (Billy) Smith of Springville, AL., and son, Gene (Melissa) Magee of Denham Springs; grandchildren, Casey (Melissa) Varnado, Cody Mitchel, Ali Mitchell, Nick Magee, and Jenna Magee; and 1 great grandson Aiden Varnado; sister, Marie Sheridan Sullivan and brother, Jerry Sheridan along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. “Billy” Magee, her parents Bolivar and Dorothy Perry Sheridan, and her son-in-law David Seal.

A private memorial will be held by the family.
