McComb Historic Train Depot Destroyed by Arsonist

On May 30, 2021, the McComb Fire Department along with the McComb Police Department responded to a fire at McComb’s historic train depot. The fire destroyed a city landmark and museum.

McComb Fire Department Investigators, McComb Police Investigators and the State Fire Marshal worked hand-in-hand to determine the cause of the fire. It was determined that the fire was deliberately set and 20-year-old Markez Delmont Smith of McComb, MS was identified as a suspect. 

McComb Fire Investigators and McComb Police Investigators have arrested Markez Delmont Smith  and charged him with First Degree Arson.
