Obituary

Glenda Thomas

November 13, 1935 – May 12, 2021

Funeral services for Glenda Thomas, 85, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Dexter Centerville Missionary Baptist Church  with Rev. Ed Penton officiating. Interment will follow at the Dexter Centerville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Glenda passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was born November 13, 1935 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Phila and William Sigrest. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her son William Earl Thomas; brothers Haynes “Twister” Wascom, Edward “Sug” Wascom, and Billy Hickey Sigrest; sisters Evelyn Wascom Creel and Betty Wasom Wells.

She was a faithful Godly woman who was a member of Dexter Centerville Missionary Baptist Church Dexter where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was extremely hard working. She will be missed by many.

Survivors include  her husband of 65 years Earl Thomas; granddaughter  Lauren Thomas; daughter-in-law Lisa Magee; nephew Mickey (Ruth Anna) McDaniel; great-grandson Keaton Bass; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Bruce Stogner, Roger Dale Lowery, Rodney Wood, Junior Wascom, Dave Wascom, and Mickey McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe Kennedy, Larry Jarrell, and Shelton Stogner. 

Visitation will be at Dexter Centerville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1:30 PM until service time at 2:30 PM.

Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
