Yvonne Grace Malley Griffith

November 13, 1927 - May 24, 2021

Lifelong resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana Yvonne Grace Malley Griffith went to heaven May 24, 2021, she was 93 yrs. Yvonne was born November 13, 1927 in Bogalusa, La. to Joseph and Norma Malley.

Yvonne graduated from Bogalusa High School. She received the B.A. and M.Ed from Southeastern Louisiana College. A dedicated educator, Yvonne served the Bogalusa City School System as a teacher and supervisor for forty-one years.

An active member of the Louisiana Teachers Association, she served as President for many years, and she also served on many state and national educational committees. In addition, she was a member and officer of both Kappa Kappa Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma, education sororities.

Yvonne is a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she served in many capacities and membership on church committees and as a Sunday School Teacher. Her civic work includes membership in the Bogalusa Civic League, Alphega Literary Society and Ingleside Literary Symposium. Yvonne did outstanding work for historic bogalusa celebrations and the Bogalusa Dogwood Tours.

Yvonne served the Washington Parish Fair Association longer than other long-term members. She was a Member Emeritus of the Washington Parish Fair Association. She loved the Fair from early childhood.

She was preceded in death by husband Frank Griffith Jr., daughter Susan Griffith Donald and grandson Nathan Griffith. She is survived by her son Frank Griffith, III and spouse Carol, son-in-law Randy Donald, grandsons, Alan and Dr. Michael Donald, Gervais Sharp and granddaughter Ashley Sharp, great-grandson Cole Sharp.

Services will be at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana on May 30, 2021. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time for the Funeral Service at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Ponemah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alan Donald, Dr. Michael Donald, Gervais Sharp, Cole Sharp.
