Mayor Route Announces New FB Page, Website and More

Although the the Franklinton Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting Agenda for Tuesday (April 27, 2021 was bare and the meeting was brief, important information was provided. 

. . Mayor Route revealed that the Town would soon have both a new Facebook page and website where residents will be able to get news, announcements, event calendar, town services information, and much more. An APP will also be available that residents can put on their cell phones.

. . Also, the Mayor and others have had conversations with the owner of Popeyes for the establishment of a children's park next to Popeye's. Additionally, the Mayor announced that Cargill has plans to invest $10 Million at their plant in Franklinton and is expected to reveal more information later this year. 

. . The Franklinton Social and Planning Committee has organized a COVID Memorial on  May 31st, Memorial Day, to honor victims, service providers, caretakers and first responders. The “candle-light” event will be at the Flagpole in Franklinton and will be for all of Washington Parish, not just for Franklinton. 

Ellen Waskom provided a financial report and alcohol permits were approved for Akita Sushi and Dollar General Store #6110 on 11th Avenue. And residents were reminded to get their COVID-19 vaccinations.
