Eddie Jerry Adams

July 19, 1956 - March 21, 2021

Eddie Jerry Adams was born July 19,1956 in Bogalusa, La. to the late Eddie Adams and the Late Alfreda Smith Adams. He passed away from the earthly presence into the presence of the Lord on Sunday March 21, 2021. Eddie joined Whitehall Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the Late Rev. Quinn Williams.

Eddie attended school in the Bogalusa City School System, graduating from Bogalusa High School. His career endeavors included Bogalusa Iron Foundry, Avondale Shipyard, Resthaven, Bogalusa Junior High School, and multiple entrepreneurial activities. 

Eddie Adams joined in holy matrimony to his wife, as well as best friend, Rose Johnson Adams on September 10, 1977. Together since junior high school, the two became inseparable. It wasn’t unusual to see the couple spreading their joy, jokes, and deliveries to those in need throughout the city. They remained united in marriage until his death. 

Eddie’s favorite pastime was fishing, cooking, and spending time with his loved ones.  He often declared that he had “the best boil pots in the city!”

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Rose Johnson Adams of Bogalusa, La; two sons, Eddie Adams III (Rekelia McGowan) both of Bogalusa, La; Aaron Sowell of Bogalusa, La.; a daughter, Kenndra Peters of Bogalusa, La.; A special niece, LaTonya Felice Prather (Shemmyron); Two sisters, Virgie Moses (Late Rev. Coleman) of Bogalusa, La; Lisa Adams of Las Vegas, Nevada; Five brothers, Daren Adams (Fatima) of Belgium; Malcom Adams (Lamanda) of Bogalusa, La.; Steven Adams (Doris) of Fountain, North Carolina; Christopher Adams of Bogalusa, La.; Jerri McClure of Bogalusa, La.  two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Ron) Felice of Richmond, Texas; Gilda (Tommy)Brumfield of Bogalusa, La; three grandchildren, Ed’Ricka Adams, E. Mani Rose Adams, and Dez’Ree Adams; Special Friends, Brenda Morgan, Sylvia Sylvan, Jackie Temple and Uncle Bobby Miller and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Alfreda Adams; His father, Eddie Adams Sr.; a son, Michael Adams; 2 brothers, Freddie Adams and Bobby Adams; and a sis-in-law, Sondra Adams.

A Drive Through Viewing will be April 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 on April 3, 2021 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.
