Covington Man Indicted for Second Degree Murder

District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted Robert Clyde Dickerson, Jr. (age 57 and of Covington) Wednesday (February 10, 2021) on charges of second degree murder, illegal possession of stolen firearms, and possession or dealing in unregistered or illegally transferred weapons in the shooting death of a man near Abita Springs last year.

Dickerson is accused of shooting Everett Wayne Finley, 61, a former co-worker, shortly before 3 a.m. on August 12, 2020, at a home near Abita Springs. Finley later died of his injures.

Assistant District Attorney Ronnie Gracianette presented the case to the grand jury.
