Basil Huey Ball

May 4, 1933 - January 27, 2021

Basil Huey Ball, age 87 and a resident of Angie, died Wednesday evening, January 28, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

He lived in Washington Parish his entire life. He served in the United State Army during the Korean War. He served in the Shriners Organization where he worked diligently to help children with burns. He was a member of the Masons and American Legion. He was an insurance agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Company for 30 plus years before becoming an independent agent. He later worked for the State of Louisiana as a judge for the board of reviews. He also sold cars in Franklinton for Magee Motors and Sicard Motors. He loved Bowling Green School Sports where he was always in the stands cheering the “BUCS” on to a victory.

He was a loving, caring and devoted husband to his wife for 56 years. He also loved and cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survived by: 3 Children: Tonya and Kyle Magee, Tyrone Ball all of Sandy Hook, Teresa and Mel Painter of Pine; 6 Grandchildren and spouses: Evan Smith, Ashley and Brian Seal, Trevor and Preslee Ball, Zach and Amber Painter, Jake Painter, Ella Painter; 7 Great grandchildren: Barrett Seal, Avery Seal, Sammy Smith, Berklee Ball, Ellie Ball, Braxton Painter, Oaklynn Painter; Brother and sister in law: Gilbert and Peggy Ball of Angie; 3 Sisters: Rose Hutchinson of Baton Rouge, Lacy Stroschin of Zachary, Trudy Williams of Baton Rouge; Brother in law and sister in law: Doug and Annalee Turnage of Sandy Hook, MS; Special Friend: Shirley Ford

He was preceded in death by his wife Faye Ball, his parents James Alton and Mildred Olga Brown Ball, and 5 siblings.

Visitation will be at Stateline Missionary Baptist Church from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 2 PM with Eld. Donnie Broome and Eld. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Carson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
