Larry Donnell McKay

May 29, 1959 - December 05, 2020

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8

Larry Donnell McKay was born in Franklinton, LA to the late Albert and Ganey McKay.

Larry, also known as BoBo or Spoon, lived in Houston, TX where he worked several construction jobs, one being at Exxon Mobile Refinery.

BoBo was also known for his cooking. He had many specialties, one being his fried corn. He was also a helper in the community doing odd jobs for the elderly. He found joy in telling jokes and feeding people.

He joined New Hope Methodist Church at an early age, under the leadership of the late Rev. Early Garrett.

He leaves to cherish his memories two brothers, Lonnie (Betty) McKay of Franklinton, LA and Ronnie McKay of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Elma Lee McKay of Houston, TX and Lymonia Hart of Franklinton, LA; a special friend, Dorothy (Tutti) Brumfield-Ganious who was like a sister; a special niece, Erica McKay and her fiancé Jeremy Green of Dallas, TX who was like a daughter; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ganey McKay; two brothers, Lanester and Alvin McKay; and one nephew, Benny McKay.

A Drive Through Viewing will be at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana on December 11, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on December 12, 2020 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.
