Bogalusa Strong is a collaborative partnership of community members, leaders, businesses and organizations working together to improve our quality of life by promoting physical, social, and environmental health. Bogalusa Strong is co-chaired by Angela Lambert, Our Lady of Angels Hospital and Valerie Vincent, LSU AgCenter. Bogalusa Strong is supported by the Mayor of Bogalusa and the Mayor’s Wellness Council, residents and community partners.
Bogalusa and Washington Parish health determinants are some of the highest in the state. We desire for our community to be one where individuals and families are physically and emotionally well, have lower rates of diabetes and other health concerns related to poor diets and lack of activity and live healthy long lives. We are working to create a healthier community together where all people thrive.
