Edna Faye Ray Varnado
May 11, 1942 - June 28, 2020



Edna Faye Ray Varnado, age 78 and a resident of Franklinton, died Sunday afternoon June 28, 2020 at Good Samaritan Living Center. She was a former manager of Best Southern Motel that always enjoyed visiting with her friends and cooking for her family. Edna liked tending to her flowers and watching all her favorite TV game shows. She enjoyed watching wrestling and football and was a big New Orleans Saints fan.

Survived by: Daughter: Ramona V. Magee; 3 Sons: Randy Varnado, Charles Varnado, Tony Varnado; Grandchildren: Robert Jimmy Jenkins, Jr. and Jessie Euguin, Dakota Shade Magee, Amanda Lachney, Aaron Ellis, Joe Don Varnado, Caleb Varnado, Shania McDonald; Great-grandchildren: Andrew Jenkins, Savannah Rowell and their mother Angela Rowell; Sisters: Joan Menard, Wanda Crappell; Brothers: Donald Ray, Bobby Ray, Ronnie Ray; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Ray, mother Ester Hollis, brother Eugene Ray, sisters Carolyn Johnson, June Ray, step-daughter Dianna Varnado and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday July 2nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Kenny Wheeler and Rev. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Seal Cemetery.
