Rita June Herring passed away on December 29, 2019 at the age of 97. She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 31, 1922. She was a lifelong member of Annunciation Catholic Church
She is survived by three grandchildren, Walter Joe Fournet, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Sun; Alison Wilson of Bogalusa; and Jill Kelehan of Diamondhead, MS; eight great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fulton and Mary Elizabeth Talley; her sister, Eloise "Nan" Talley; husband, Cassie "Peck" Herring; daughter, Dianne C. Herring; great-grandson, Eric J. Quave; and grandson-in-law, Jimmy E. Wilson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. Services celebrating her life will be at Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa on Friday, January 3, 2020. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until funeral service begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
