“Butch” Ernest Joseph Miller
October 9, 1948 – December 17, 2019



“Butch” Ernest Joseph Miller, a native and lifelong resident of Bogalusa, LA died Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his family at the age of 71. He served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years. He also retired from the Louisiana Veterans Affairs Office after 16 years of service.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 48 and a half years, Cathy Miller of Bogalusa, LA; 2 daughters, Christina Miller of Bogalusa, LA; and Angela Miller Crochet of Pensacola, FL; 8 grandchildren, Tyler (Leticia Pollard) Rester of Bogalusa, LA, Timothy Mitchell Rester of Bogalusa, LA, Elizabeth Miller of Bogalusa, LA, Jasmine Crochet of Pensacola, FL, Aurora Crochet of Pensacola FL, Joe Phelps of Franklinton, LA, Zack Bennett of Bogalusa, LA, and Brittney Ard of Bogalusa, LA; 1 great grandchild, Arizona Marie Rester of Bogalusa, LA; 1 sister, Janice Lee (Taswell) Brown of Newport News, VA. He was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chip Ernest Joseph Miller, Jr,; parents, Ernest and Pearlie Miller; step father, Woodrow Warner.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. Pete Bennett. Internment will follow in the Garden of Peace Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by Magic City American Legion Post #24.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, January 4, 2020, morning from 10 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.

Donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.
