Obituary

Virgil Mondy
December 1, 1926 - November 24, 2019



Mr. Virgil Mondy was the third born child of Floretta Brown-Mondy and Terman Mondy on December 1, 1926.. He was called home by the Angel of the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Mr. Virgil Mondy was a faithful member of Wesley Ray United Methodist Church and attended until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of forty-five years, Mrs. Olevia Speights Mondy.

Mr. Virgil Mondy is the father of six children:  Yvonne Mondy-Johnson of Slidell, LA; Vergie Lee Mondy-Brooks of Virginia; Treanders Mondy (deceased); Victor Peters of Varnado, LA; Cassandra Lewis of Varnado, LA and Sylvia Garrett of Angie, LA.

His siblings are: Bessie Mondy-Lee of San Leando, CA; Luella Mondy-Jackson of Angie, LA; Herman (Ida Mae) Mondy of Oakland CA; Leonard Mondy of Angie, LA; Otha Mondy (deceased), Oliver Mondy(deceased); Freddie Will Mondy(deceased); Hattie Mondy-Foster (deceased); Velma Mondy-Nichols (deceased) ; Gracie Mondy-Foster (deceased); Roxie Mondy-Roberts (deceased); and Rachel Mondy (deceased).

His grandchildren are: John Roderic Hatcher, Deshanan Hatcher-Nelson, Naisha Johnson Ahmad Brooks, Perry Brooks Jr, Krsunthia Brooks-Childs (deceased), Lauren Mondy, Joe (Jeanneth) Lewis, Jr; Ernest Quenzell (Amy) Spikes, Aaron (Tracy) Lewis, Erica (Willis) Yarbrough, Victoria Peters, and Victor Jerod Peters.

Mr. virgil Mondy was a World War ll Veteran, a pillar of the Angie Community, and a loving family man. He will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends including his special Sister-In-Law, Louise (Ellis) Burrell.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2019 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie, Louisiana.
