Obituary

Clara Lauretta Wilson
February 25, 1948 - October 24, 2019



Clara Lauretta Wilson was peacefully called home on October 24, 2019. Clara was born on February 25, 1948 to the unity of Russell and Ethel Harvey Wilson, in Franklinton, LA. Clara accepted Christ at an early age in which she joined Sweet Home Church. She received a formal education at Washington Parish High. After school she moved to New Orleans, LA. Years later, she moved back to Franklinton, LA. She married Charles Ramsey, Jr., in a double wedding with her sister Alpha Wilson. She worked for many years at the Cottage Restaurant in Franklinton, LA. She then traveled and lived in several countries and states. Eventually settled in Georgia where she joined New Harvest Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Jerrie (WC) Ladner of Lacombe, LA and Margaret Wilson of Georgia; four grandchildren, Keyosha Ski’ Ladner of New Orleans, LA, Tevin Alexander Wilson, Quincy LeAndre Wilson, and Trinity Janelle “TJ” Wilson; two godchildren, Alexis Ladora Wilson of Georgia, Mercedes Samone Wilson of Franklinton, LA; one sister, Sherrie Hewitt of Franklinton, LA; also, a very special longtime friend, Simarone Magee a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ramsey, Jr.; her mother and father, Russell and Ethel Harvey Wilson; three brothers, Russell Jr., Terrye, and Arnold Wilson; four sisters, Victoria Butler, Elaine Dove, Etta Brumfield, and Alpha Dean Wilson; two nieces, Evalda Lackings and Mary Dove; one nephew, James Wilson; three great nephews, Jalen, Oneal Warren, Jr., and Nyger Magee.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Sweet Home Church in Franklinton, LA from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00p.m. Elder Kevin Golden, pastor, officiating; and Eulogist, Bishop Earl Bell.
