Obituary

Gary Donise Harry
November 10, 1958 - September 23, 2019

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.  II Timothy 4:7-8

On Monday, September 23, 2019 in the early morning God sent an angel of death and received one of his own. Gary Donise Harry o himself entering him into eternal rest. Gary Donise Harry was born November 10, 1958 to the late J.W. Williams and Ester Lee Moses Williams Robinson. He was the second of five children and the oldest son.

At an early age, he worked mowing yards, handling pulp wood and furthered his career at Bogalusa Medical Center (currently Our Lady of Angels) in the laundry where he retired.

Donise was a great dad and really loved his children and grand-daughter. Donise had no problem letting his family know that he loved him. He had an infectious personality. He enjoyed keeping everyone around him laughing, partying, plenty of talking and fun times. Doe could flip the switch on that personality if crossed. Doe was one that confessed he was once sponsored by Smith and Wesson but as he grew older, he was sponsored by God and the Social Security Administration. He loved all music but especially the “Blues.” His favorite gospel Songs are: There’s a leak in this old building and When you hear my Homegoing. He has his own deck of sayings such as: If you don’t like my peaches, don’t shake my tree, I’m a Coot Boy, I love you and there’s nothing you can do about it, now let’s call a time out, You can take one hour a month to take care of your business or your business will take care of you, and I went to the doctor and he said the problem is I ain’t being loved like I should.

He leaves so many memories for all to cherish his daughters, Tonitha Denise Walker and Delvin Donise Harry; granddaughter, Tiaja (Kizzie) Marks; one sister, Amenda (Lionel) Mark; two brothers, Clark K. (Dorothy) Harry and James Harry, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Beverly Ann Harry; aunts, Annie Mae Robinson, Clementine Nichols, Linder Dillon, Sharon Lewis and Cnadsie Harry; one uncle, Joe L. Lewis; God Sister, Andrea Sopsher; special friends, Dalbo Dickson, Boo Brown, Victor Peters, Clyde Brown, Stanley Oneal Morris and Terrica Keys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Williams and Ester Lee Moses Williams Robinson; one brother, Cory Harry; grandparents, Joana Wells, Emanuel Lewis, Nolan Moses, Jessie Lewis and Frank Harvey; one uncle, Frank Harvey, Jr.; one nephew, Brandon Alexander; special friends, Willie Carol Barnes, Austin “Tot” Blackwell and Classie Bearden.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a Family Gathering from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
