Alton Troy Wilson, Sr., age 61 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died early Tuesday morning September 24, 2019 at his home. Troy was a 1976 graduate of Mt. Hermon High School, where he was the FFA president and participated in the showing of dairy cows at livestock shows throughout the area. He worked alongside his family as a successful dairyman for many years and continued with his sons to show his cows at livestock events. Troy loved music, especially playing the drums and always liked fast cars. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan but his favorite team was certainly Mt. Hermon Baseball, where he loved to watch his grandson play. Troy liked to cook for and eat good food with his family.
Survived by: Wife of 45 years: Brenda Schilling Wilson of Mt. Hermon; Son: Troy Wilson, II of Mt. Hermon; 3 Grandchildren: Cassie Wilson, Macey Wilson and Brandon Lapharaohs, Trenton Wilson; Great Grandchildren: Kori Kaylix Fontenot, Kairen Keith Fontenot, Kyler Wayne Wilson; Sister: Stephanie Wilson of Mt. Hermon; Father in law: Sam Schilling of Mt. Hermon; Sister in law and brother in law: Sandy and Mark Davis, Brothers in law and sister in law: Scott and Kate Schilling, Randall Schilling
He was preceded in death by a son Spencer Wilson, his parents Horce Wilson and Dale McElveen Wilson, granddaughter Hannah Wilson, mother in law Cleo Goings Schilling and brother in law Doug Schilling.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home after 10 AM Saturday, September 28, 2019 with a funeral service to be held at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randall Garcia and Rev. Leroy McElveen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to help with final expenses.
