Slidell: Tip Leads Detectives to Narcotics and Firearms

A tip from an anonymous citizen led members of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force to a Slidell-area residence where narcotics and numerous firearms were located Wednesday (April 17, 2019). Antonio Valdez (27) of Houston has been arrested and Trequan Rollins (25) is sought in connection with the case.

The anonymous tip was received from a resident concerned about potential narcotics activity at a home on DeSoto Street in Slidell. While executing the search warrant at the residence, detectives located a male hiding inside the home. The male initially provided a fake name, but was ultimately identified as Antonio Valdez.

Detectives also located approximately six ounces of cocaine, 16 grams of THC wax, 30 dosage units of alprazolam, approximately eight grams of marijuana, assorted narcotics paraphernalia, $791 believed to be the proceeds of narcotics transactions, and a clandestine hydroponic marijuana grow which yielded 18 marijuana plants. A suppressed AR-15 rifle
with multiple loaded high capacity magazines, an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 pistol, a .380 caliber handgun, a 9 mm handgun, a taser and ballistic body armor were also located inside the residence. Detectives located an additional approximately three grams of cocaine inside a vehicle, which was parked at the residence.

The STPSO Narcotics Task Force is composed of detectives from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Mandeville Police Department.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts or location of Trequan Rollins is asked to contact the STPSO at 985-898-2338. Anonymous narcotics tips can be provided on the STPSO website, www.stpso.com, or by calling 1-888-GO-2-JAIL.
