George "Carlos" Jenkins, age 75 and a resident of Pine, died Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was formerly an Insulator for the Asbestos Union Local 53 in New Orleans. Carlos served in the California and later the Louisiana Army National Guard for several years. He also was a farmer that grew and sold watermelons for many years. He always liked to plant a garden each year. Carlos loved hunting and the outdoors.
He is survived by numerous family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Van Jenkins and Audrey Nobles Jenkins, brothers William Ottis Jenkins, Elton Jenkins and sisters Mildred Creel, Carolyn Sharp and Vertie Mae Miller.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday December 13th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Eld. Mason Miley officiating. Burial will follow in the Jenkins Family Cemetery near Pine.
Pallbearers: Jason Jenkins, Tracy Schilling, Pee Wee Miller, Jeffrey Sharp, Matthew Nobles, Berkley Nobles.
