William "Bill" Rainey, Jr., age 79 and a resident of Hahnville died Friday December 7, 2018 at his home. He always enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. Bill had a green thumb and liked to plant a good vegetable garden each year. He was a big LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. Bill loved spending time with his family and adored his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: William Rainey, III and Melissa Rainey of Pine, Richard and Adrianne Rainey of Barksdale AFB; 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Debbie and Larry Clegg of Brandon, MS, Linda and Donald Lambert of Hahnville, Marilyn and Garland Scott of Woodbury, TN; Grandchildren: Rachel Clegg, Heather Clegg, Ashley Clegg Gould, Joshua Clegg, D’Lynn Clegg, Caleb Clegg, Winnie Clegg, Valerie and David LeBlanc, Casey and Lauren Turk, Zearl Turk, Madison Rainey, Austin Rainey, Sara Lambert, Tori Lambert; Great-Grandchildren: Kaylee LeBlanc, Emilee LeBlanc, D.J. LeBlanc, Ann Rainey Gould, Jaxon Turk; Siblings: Ada, Judy and Johnny; Also numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Aline Hagan Rainey, parents William Rainey and Myrtle Mae McQueen Rainey, siblings Mittie, Richard, Rosie and Bonnie, and father in law and mother in law Richard and Mary Hagan.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday December 15th at the Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
