BPD Police Chief on Crime Reduction

Bogalusa Police Chief Kendall Bullen appeared before the City Council to announce plans for Bogalusa to participate in the National Night Out Against Crime initiative, the first time Bogalusa has participated since the initiative began 35 years ago. Bullen noted that he reached out to people in the community to assist and expects community leaders to participate.

Bullen credited his officers, spoke of changing the mindset of the community regarding crime, and said that the community agrees with him that “enough is enough”. He also spoke of the need for people to report crime and remarked that “there is more good people in this town than criminals”. Since being appointed Police Chief in December of 2016, Chief Bullen has engaged the community in various ways.

In November of 2017, Chief Kendall Bullen and the Bogalusa Police Department hosted the first “Bogalusa Police and Young Adult Retreat”, during which the youth enjoyed the weekend playing basketball, volleyball, and fishing. (Click here to read about it)

In July, 2018, the Chief and the Bogalusa Police Department held a Policemen VS Preachers basketball  tournament. (Click here to read about it)

It all helps!
