Deputies responded to reports of a double shooting on I-55 near Amite to find Sylvia Foxx (35) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin lying in the roadway near the driver's side door of a Honda Accord, with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Nearby was Shane Anthony Jones (44), also of Milwaukee, lying on the ground unconscious with a visible gunshot wound to the facial area.

Upon completion of the investigation, Shane Anthony Jones could face charges of attempted second degree murder.
