Sheriff's Scholarship Awarded to Franklinton Graduate

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal has announced the local winner of a Louisiana Sheriffs’
Association scholarship. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a worthy Washington Parish graduate who will be pursuing higher education at a Louisiana college or university. Financial resources for the scholarship program are made available through the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership program.
Sheriff Seal recently awarded this year’s scholarship to Joshua Gubert, a 2018 graduate of Franklinton High School. In addition to graduating with a high academic average and serving as a member of the Student Council, Joshua was active in high school sports, including football, soccer, tennis, power-lifting and track. He will be attending the University of Louisiana Lafayette, pursuing a major in mathematics.
Sheriff Seal stated, “The scholarship program is a meaningful expression of confidence in our local youth. I am pleased to award this scholarship to Joshua Gubert who has demonstrated his commitment to excellence. He is a fine example of the many outstanding young people of Washington Parish who will emerge as leaders in our parish and state. Congratulations, Joshua!”
