Morris W. Strickland, age 78 and a resident of Kentwood, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Hammond. He was born March 11, 1939 in Hazlehurst, MS. He was a member of Pipeliners Local Union #798.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Debbie Stewart (Denis Bertinetti), Kentwood, Tammy Shaffett (George Butler), Kentwood, and Kim Hayden (Danny), Amite; 6 grandchildren, David Stewart, Jr., Dustan Stewart, Dakota Shaffett, Coltin Shaffett, Gavin Graham, and Cara Graham; 7 great-grandchildren, Jaron Stewart, Haylee Stewart, Christina Cox, Adison Stewart, Kamdon Stewart, Isabella Shaffett, and Chloe Ann Shaffett.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Strickland; parents, Walter and Carrie Strickland; 7 brothers and sisters, Austan Strickland, Alma Wiltshire, Katie Dickerson, Edna Upton, Bernice Sanders, Betty Cataldo, and J. W. Strickland.
Visitation at Greenlaw Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Services conducted by Rev. Jerry Jordan. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.
McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in charge of arrangements.
