Freeda Melissa Corkern Remington
August 9, 1927 - October 25, 2017


Freeda Corkern Remington born August 9, 1927 was called home to be with The Lord on October 25, 2017 at the age of 90. Freeda was a route carrier for the Bogalusa Daily News for 42 years serving the Pine, Thomas and Stateline Communities, she also was a member of the Bogalusa Lion's Club and a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Bogalusa.
She leaves behind her husband 0f 71 ½ years M.G."Mel" Remington, three daughters, Kathy Remington, Prescilla Ann Smith and her husband Mike and Carla Altenbach and her husband Jon, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, Murray and Prescilla Galloway Corkern, 3 brothers, Ray Corkern, Roy Corkern and Carl Corkern, 2 sisters, Hilda Corkern Provost and Wilda Corkern Myles.
Visitation will be held Friday October 27, 2017 beginning at 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. and will Saturday October 28, 2017 after 8:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. Rev Joe Roszelle will officiate the services with the interment to follow in the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Isabel Community.
