In a move to further promote economic progress in Washington Parish, Senator Beth Mizell authored a bill (SB163) in the last legislative session to allow local parish businesses to participate as vendors at Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie. The bill passed and was signed by Governor Edwards as Act 248.
Local businesses are encouraged to learn more and enroll as participants in two initiatives: the Hudson Initiative and the Veteran Initiative. Each offers small businesses more access to contracting with State agencies.
