Barbara Ann LeBlanc Taylor peacefully departed this earth on Wednesday, July 19th in the presence of her loving husband of over 60 years, Ray Taylor whom she worked side by side in their home and family business for years. Barbara was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend and will be sorely missed by all those whose lives were touched by her friendly smile and generous, caring spirit. Barbara was a native of Franklinton, Louisiana and a graduate of Franklinton High School, where she lived for most of her life. Along with her husband, Ray, Barbara will be missed by her children Mark Taylor and his wife Diamond, their children Mark Taylor, Aschine Polk and Delilah Polk and their grandchildren, Alexis and Miranda Smith by the late Charlen Whitehead of Franklinton and her daughter Connie Taylor Kirkpatrick, her husband Brad and their children Brienna and Cole of Brush Prairie, Washington. Barbara’s siblings, Patricia LeBlanc Heurtin (Derrill) of St. Francisville, LA, Windham Renoir LeBlanc (Kay) of Ponchatoula, LA and Brannon Aumont LeBlanc of Diamondhead all mourn the loss of their big sis and welcome your special memories of Barbara in the days, weeks and years to come. She is preceded in death and love by their parents Windham J. “Pops” and Edith Aileen Murphy LeBlanc.
Barbara was a hard-working, generous and loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a talented organizer for countless events associated with the Town of Franklinton, Bowling Green School, the Washington Parish Free Fair and the Mile Branch Settlement. Her countless trips to Gatlinburg, TN and the Great Smokey Mountains led her to be an invaluable resource for the Town of Franklinton in decorating to welcome the throngs of visitors during the fair to this quaint small town. She shared her love of flowers and crafts, her knack for cooking and gardening to enhance every volunteer event, church social and family celebration she was a part of. Barbara took special joy in her expansive flower collection, her vegetable garden and showed an amazing talent for cooking, catering and sewing. But Barbara experienced no greater joy than seeing her grandchildren, Brienna, Cole & Mark and reveling in their accomplishments, their education and their adventures. Her many nieces and nephews will always remember her by her endless generosity when it came to sharing the bounty of her gardens and her love. She never visited family empty handed.
A memorial service is being planned for the near future to celebrate the life of this amazing, caring and loving woman who touched so many lives in her 79 years on this earth.
Let there be singing, dancing and twirling in heaven upon her arrival and she will surely be smiling and fear not, if they don’t know how to sing, dance or twirl……. She will organize classes and teach them all.
