Acting U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced
that ROBERT LYONS (32) of Covington was charged with federal firearms violations
in a recently unsealed two-count Indictment.
According to the
Indictment, LYONS possessed firearm silencers and knowingly made firearm
silencers.
Acting U.S. Attorney Evans reiterated that an Indictment is merely
a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable
doubt.
If convicted, LYONS faces, as to each count, a maximum term of
imprisonment of 10 years, a fine of $10,000, three years supervised release
after imprisonment, and a $100 special assessment.
