While taking care of routine and necessary matters, and though the meeting was lengthy, many positives came from the Bogalusa Council meeting Tuesday (May 2, 2017). The meeting was lengthy due necessary discussion and input from residents on the issues. We recommend viewing the video synopsis of what took place.
- Area resident Leyton Page was presented the Carnegie Medal of Honor
- Congressman Abraham had a representative present with the offer to help where needed
- Bruce Sampson provided a presentation of the Believe Summer Camp for kids scheduled June 19-23
- Wendy Williams provided information, prior to Council approval of a cooperative agreement, regarding Project Save Bogalusa's efforts to address neighborhood blight and provide affordable housing to low and moderate income residents.
- Approved a cooperative endeavor agreement with District A Neighborhood Association to open the Poplas Recreation Center for kids.
- Mayor Wendy Perrette announced events, praised the Believe Summer Camp, and provided news of increasing job opportunities.
- Councilman Ard remarked on the “awesome” job being done by City employees, in particular the Public Works and Police Department employees.
