Larry Gene Daniel
February 5, 1945 - May 26, 2017


LARRY GENE DANIEL, AGE 72 and a resident of the Springhill Community died at 3:30 pm Friday May 26, 2017 at his home. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church that enjoyed working with his hands doing mechanic work and carpentry. Larry worked for Borden, Inc. and Crown-Zellerbach before a career at Southern Natural Gas that lasted 33 years and 3 days. He loved fishing, deer hunting, hog hunting and the great outdoors. He was a loving father and a kind, good-hearted person.
Survived by: 2 Daughters: Lisa Spears of Franklinton, Melissa Quave and Lisa Owens of Missouri; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Jeffery and Debbie Daniels of Ponchatoula, Scott and Amy Daniels of Franklinton; 8 Grandchildren and a Spouse: Jonathan Spears, Jordan Spears, Kelli Spears, Ashley Daniels, Jeremy Daniels, Ryan Daniels, Trevor and Brittany Daniels, Sierra Hayes; 2 Great-grandchildren: Owen Daniels, Kiarah Hayes; Brother and Sister in law: John Louis and Sarah Daniel of Franklinton; Sister in law: Joyce Daniel of Franklin, LA; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Daniel and Natalie Bankston Daniel, brother Jimmy Daniel and uncle Troy Bankston.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to those who sat with and cared for Mr. Larry through the years.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday May 28th from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 9 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Gay officiating. Burial will follow in the Bankston Cemetery.
