Craig Antwon Jefferson (30) of Bogalusa was sentenced Monday (May 22, 2017) by U.S. District Judge Robert G. James on one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (cocaine) to twelve and a half years in prison and eight years of supervised release.
According to the March 1, 2017 guilty plea, law enforcement officers pulled over Jefferson’s vehicle April 14, 2016 on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish for a traffic violation. An officer searched the vehicle and found 6.5 pounds of cocaine and 6 grams of marijuana in a backpack. When officers attempted to arrest Jefferson, he fled on foot and was later apprehended.
