Bogalusa Man Gets 12½ Years for Cocaine Distribution

Craig Antwon Jefferson (30) of Bogalusa was sentenced Monday (May 22, 2017) by U.S. District Judge Robert G. James on one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (cocaine) to twelve and a half years in prison and eight years of supervised release.
According to the March 1, 2017 guilty plea, law enforcement officers pulled over Jefferson’s vehicle April 14, 2016 on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish for a traffic violation. An officer searched the vehicle and found 6.5 pounds of cocaine and 6 grams of marijuana in a backpack. When officers attempted to arrest Jefferson, he fled on foot and was later apprehended.
