Obituary

Christopher Bernard Harris
September 18, 1967 - April 8, 2017



Brother Christopher Bernard Harris was born September 18, 1967 to the late Clarence and Myrtis Harris Sr. and was the youngest of fifteen children. At an early age he was baptized at Allen Temple COGIC in Bogalusa, LA. He attended Bogalusa High School and was the quarterback for the football team. "I was the fastest on the team". Bernard met Gail in 1989 and later wed in in 1998. To this union a daughter was born, Carissa Rebecca Harris and son was gained, Noel Gallo (from Gail's previous relationship.
In 1998 Bernard was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and fought with this disease for many years with his wife by his side. In his past time, Bernard loved playing dominos, watching his favorite football team; the New Orleans Saints, eating his cookies and honey burns, going to church to listen to the gospel choirs, and when stricken to his BMW (wheelchair), he would rock all the babies to sleep. Bernard became a member of the Faith, Hope and Charity COGIC under the late Supt. Felton Brumfield presently Eld. Antoine Brumfield. Christopher departed the earth April 8, 2017 at his home with his wife, daughter and grand-daughter, Kjalyn by his side.
Bernard will be forever cherished by: his loving wife, Gail Harris, his daughter, Carissa Harris, he son Noel (Charnelle) Gallo; three granddaughters: Kjalyn Webb, Nakaria Gallo and Kavaina Hurd, five grandsons: Randy Jackson, Nigel Gallo, Treamaine Chatman, Jermaine Chatman and Trevell Hills; two god children: Ae'Raeil Watson and AyDenn Watson; seven sisters: Rosie Lee McGowan, Helen Riley, Christine (Ralph)Graves, Hazel Harrington, Aline Silas, Lovie (Ronald) Torregano and Gloria Ladner; five brothers: Tommy Silas, M. L. Ladner, Ladelle Ladner, Jesse (Juanita) Ladner and Clarence Harris Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Myrtis Harris, two siblings, Lieutenant Ladner and Laverne Ladner and a brother in law, Mike Harrington.
