Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to and investigated a two vehicle crash Friday (April 21, 2017) that claimed the life of 28-year-old Covington resident Dwight Donnell Johnson.
Troopers determined that Johnson was riding a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed on LA 435 and passed several other vehicles prior to the crash. A 2000 Ford F-350 driven by Earl Gregory (60) of Abita Springs, entered LA 435 from a private drive. The truck was towing a tandem axle gooseneck trailer loaded with pine logs. Johnson’s motorcycle crashed into the rear axle of the trailer and Johnson was ejected from the motorcycle. Gregory was not injured.
