A head on crash on Alton Williams Road Thursday (April 6, 2017) at 8:42 a.m. near Angie claimed the life of Shanda Cherie Cothern (25), a resident of Alton Williams Road.
The 1991 Oldsmobile 88 being driven southbound by Ms. Cothern crashed head on with a northbound 2011 Toyota Camry. Ms. Cothern was pronounced dead on the scene by the Washington Parish Coroner’s Office. A rear seat juvenile passenger in her vehicle was airlifted to a medical center for injuries. The thirty-three year old female driver of the Toyota also suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to North Oaks Hospital. The condition of the injured persons is unknown at this time. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor and all occupants appear to have been properly restrained.
