20 Arrested in Multi-Agency Operation in Hammond

On April 11, 2017, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit,  Narcotics Unit, Investigation Unit, and K-9 Unit,  assistance by the Hammond Police Department Narcotics Unit, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), conducted two search warrants which netted the arrest of 20 individuals.  These arrests come with the seizure of a large quantity of illegal narcotics, several firearms, and stolen property.

At approximately 3:00 p.m.,  members from all agencies executed two search warrants on residences located on Herman Johnson Lane relative to stolen property and illegal narcotics. These two residence have plagued the community for over a decade and have been the subject of numerous narcotics and stolen property investigations.  Through past and current investigations, individuals from Tangipahoa and Livingston Parish travel to this location to purchase narcotics.  Some of these individuals will even trade stolen property for narcotics.  

As expected during the execution of the warrants, numerous people began to arrive with money in hand.  The majority of the individuals arriving stated that they expectations of purchasing illicit narcotics ranging from crack cocaine, marijuana, to methamphetamine. At least two individuals admitted to trading prescription medication, namely Suboxone for crack cocaine.  The property owner, Leroy Clyde Johnson Sr. who was one of the individuals arrested, admitted to trading and purchasing items that he knew to be stolen to individuals so they could support their various narcotics addictions.



As a result of the operation, detectives seized quantities of suspected marijuana, suspected CRACK cocaine, suspected methamphetamine, and assorted prescription medication. Detectives also seized items such as several cases of beer, bottles of liquor, firearms, and power tools in which Leroy Clyde Johnson Sr. admitted to receiving in exchange for narcotics. Detectives also located a stolen Warn 15000 pound winch inside of Leroy Clyde Johnson’s residence which was reported stolen from Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives arrested the following individuals:

Leroy Clyde Johnson Sr. black male, (DOB 01/16/1951) of Herman Johnson lane Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with two counts of RS 40:967 A1 Possession with the intent to distribute CDS II, RS 40:966A1 possession with the intent to distribute CDS I, RS 14:95E possession of firearm while in possession of CDS, and RS 14:69 possession of stolen property.

Jennifer Lynn Thompson white female, (DOB 10/11/1983) of  Durbin Road Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966A1 possession with the intent to distribute CDS I, RS 40:967 possession of CDS II, RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia, and two outstanding warrants.

Antonio Richardson black male, (DOB 09/19/1983) of  Durbin Road Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and an outstanding warrant.

Raelonn MARYLAND black, female, (D.O.B. 05/08/1991) of  Old Baton Rouge Highway Hammond, Louisiana was charged with two outstanding warrants related to Simple Battery and Aggravated Battery. 

Andrew HARRIS black, male, (D.O.B. 01/24/1997) of  Highway 40 West Independence, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966 possession of CDS I.

Edwin BREELAND Jr. white, male, D.O.B. (08/18/1950) of  Eight Street Drive Ponchatoula, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.    
   
Dedrick JACKSON black, male, (D.O.B. 06/16/1993) of  North Cafeline Road Albany, Louisiana arrived  was charged with two Failure To Appear Warrants through the 21st JDC.

Christopher McGEE black, male, (D.O.B. 07/26/1988) of  Durbin Road Extension Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966 possession of CDS I and an outstanding warrant.

Melissa LEE white, female, (D.O.B. 03/07/1968) of  Rufus Bankston Road Hammond, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II,  RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia, and three outstanding warrants.  

Sheila METHVIN white, female, (D.O.B. 09/15/1966) of  Music Lane Springfield, Louisiana  was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.   
   
Dedric JOHNSON black, male, (D.O.B. 06/12/1974) of  Herman Johnson Lane Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:1238.1 possession of a legend drug and an outstanding warrant.

Dedrick PHELPS black, male, (D.O.B. 06/21/1978) of  Durbin Road Extension Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966 possession of CDS I and three outstanding warrants.

Christopher SYKES black, male, (D.O.B. 08/20/1998) of  Rosewood Drive Hammond, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966 possession of CDS I.

Kerrie SCHEXNAIDER white, female, (D.O.B. 01/15/1967) of  North Cafeline Road Tickfaw, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.   

Alvin PATRICK white, female, (D.O.B.  03/17/1966) of  Illinois Jones Road Hammond, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.   

Sheila MALBROUGH black, female, (D.O.B. 02/28/1994) of  Wilbert Dangerfield Hammond, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:966 possession of CDS I.

Dennis TRAPP white, male (D.O.B. 12/16/1960) of  Joelene Street Albany, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.   

Randy PENALBER white, male (D.O.B. 11/10/1985) of  Barnum Road Springfield, Louisiana was charged with RS 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.   

Jeff Clayton McKINNEY white, male, (D.O.B. 08/14/1984) of  North Baptist Road Hammond, Louisiana was charged with possession of CDS II, RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia, RS 14:95E possession of a firearm while in possession of CDS, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.. A detainer was placed on McKINNEY by Louisiana State Probation and Parole due to him currently being on probation.

Casey PERKINS white, female, (D.O.B. 03/09/1988) of Elm Street Springfield, Louisiana was charged with 40:967 possession of CDS II and RS 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia.
