TPSO Arrests Convicted Sex Offender

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of convicted sex offender Jerry Wayne Parker (38) of Amite. He is charged with Pornography involving juveniles, Failure to notify of change of registration information, Possession of schedule II, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and a hold was placed on Parker for the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office for the charge of Unlawful use of a social networking website.
Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives had received a complaint on January 23, 2017 regarding a white male later identified as Parker. Parker was accused of contacting a female on Facebook and engaging in unwanted sexually explicit behavior. When it was learned that Parker had been convicted in 2007 in Bossier Parish of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Juvenile and that Parker resided in Amite, the case was turned over to TPSO.

During the subsequent investigation, it was discovered Parker was in possession of pornography involving juveniles.  A search warrant was obtained and a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine and pipes believed to have been used to ingest illegal narcotics were located inside the residence.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation is on-going.
