Arrest Made in Abita Dollar General Armed Robbery

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in the armed robbery that occurred last week at the Dollar General on Highway 59 near Abita Springs.
At approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday, an alert patrol deputy saw a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used during the armed robbery, parked outside the Abita Springs Walgreens, just blocks away from where the armed robbery occurred Friday afternoon.
Michael Mitchell (35) of Covington was sitting inside the vehicle at the time and was arrested and booked in to the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of Armed Robbery.
