Slidell Man Gets 10 Years in Prison for Rape

Charles J. O’Neill (38) of Slidell pled guilty to second degree rape on March 13 and  District Judge Martin E. Coady sentenced him to 10 years in the Department of Corrections and required O’Neill to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender.
O’Neill invited the victim to his home on June 2 last year, and when she arrived, he locked the doors and raped her. After she had left, he sent the victim a battery of text messages, apologizing for what he had done and begging her not to report the crime.
O’Neill was arrested and admitted in a statement to officers that the victim did not consent to intercourse.
