Pair Arrested for Residential Burglary Near Franklinton

Responding to a citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle at a residence on Jack Jones Road near Franklinton on March 15, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered that the residence had been burglarized and numerous items had been stolen.
The deputies located a vehicle matching the description provided and observed a female carrying items from the vehicle into another residence. The female was questioned and admitted that the items had been given to her by Randee Jerrell (30). Knowing that Jerrell was on parole, deputies summoned Probation and Parole agents to assist in the search for him. He was located hiding in his residence on Jack Jones Road.

Randee Jerrell (30) was charged with burglary and parole violation. Andrea Sumrall (32), a resident of Bogalusa, was charged with possession of stolen property.
“Once again, an alert citizen provided information about a crime which had been committed in Washington Parish,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “I can’t over-emphasize the importance of our residents alerting us to unusual activity so that we can follow up. It is so important to watch your neighbor’s house and your community. Let’s continue to partner together to identify and arrest criminals.”
