On Saturday December 31, 2016 at 12:32am, the Mandeville Police Department responded to a call of a disturbance on Heavens Drive and located a female with serious injuries to her neck.
The female advised that her ex-husband, Adrian Daigle (37) of Lake Charles came to her residence to visit her. She stated she had several relatives visiting her because her current husband recently died. She stated he followed her into her bedroom, pushed her onto to the bed, and grabbed her around the throat. She stated she felt her larynx was crushed which made breathing difficult and prevented her from screaming for help. The victim stated Daigle grabbed a box fan cord from the floor and wrapped it around her neck, attempting to strangle her. Relatives in the residence heard the struggle and intervened at this time.
Daigle stole the victim’s computer server and fled in a vehicle the victim had borrowed from a friend. Officers located abandoned vehicle in a nearby parking lot and ,after a brief search of the area, located Daigle and placed him under arrest without incident on the charges of attempted second degree murder and and theft.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries to her neck/larynx. She is expected to make a full recovery.
