On Tuesday (December 20) afternoon, Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single vehicle crash on LA 433 near Salt Bayou that claimed the life of 16 year-old Tyler Levy of Slidell, LA.
Investigators determined that Jonathan Lunsford of Slidell lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned, and became submerged in the waterway. Lunsford and two juvenile passengers were able to escape the vehicle with minor injuries. Tyler Levy remained trapped within the vehicle.
Levy was extricated from the vehicle by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and St. Tammany Parish Fire District #1. Levy was transported to Oschner Medical Center-North Shore in critical condition and died Wednesday (December 21, 2016).
