Fugitive Arrested at Riverside Medical Center

On November 28, a Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy working a detail at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton noticed a person who was acting in a suspicious manner. The deputy determined the man to be Justin Wayne Stafford (29), a resident of Nobles Cemetery Road in Franklinton, had three outstanding Failure to Appear Warrants (for Possession of Cocaine, Traffic offenses, and Disturbing the Peace by fighting.
The deputy took Stafford into custody and, during a search at the jail, discovered that Stafford had cocaine and Suboxone pain strips on his person.
Sheriff Randy Seal congratulated the deputy on his quick action in apprehending Stafford. “Our alert deputy did an excellent job in this matter. Only Stafford knows why he was at the hospital and it is beyond reason to understand why anyone would bring illegal drugs into a hospital setting. The alertness of our deputy may have prevented another crime.”
