Obituary

Matthew Jason Seal

October 24, 1985 - December 12, 2020

Matthew Jason Seal, age 35 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday afternoon December 12, 2020 surrounded by his beloved family. Matt had a long, courageous fight with diabetes since he was a teenager and battled difficult complications during the last 3 years. He was a 2004 graduate of Bowling Green School, where he played for the Buccaneer Football and Track and Field teams. Matt was also an accomplished weight lifter during his time at Bowling Green. He will also be remembered by faculty and classmates for his love of technology and his kind hearted personality that was a friend to everyone. He loved playing different sports and adventure games on his X-box. Matt was a member of Bethel Baptist Church that shared the gift of salvation with others. He had difficulty health wise, but Matt never let the disease destroy his fun-loving spirit and the care he had for other people.

Survived by: Parents: Kenneth W. Seal and Debbie Fricke Seal of Franklinton; Sister and Brother in law: Kourtney and Cole Taylor and their sons Maddox and Eli; Grandparents: Billie Sue Foy Fricke and the late Pete Fricke, Freddie L. Seal and Joyce Husser Seal; Uncles and Aunts: Donald and Julie Fricke, Dale and Jennifer Seal, Trudy and Neil Hicks, Ronnie and Melanie Seal; Cousins: Steven and Sherri Hicks, Nathan Seal, Kristen Seal, Danny Seal, John and Elizabeth Seal, Paul Seal; Special Friends: Tia Taylor, Lindsey Stringfield, Anne Hatch; Also numerous other cousins and many dear friends

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday December 15th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Steven Hicks and Rev. Joe Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

During this holiday season, the family encourages donations in Matt’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, which was very helpful to the family during the latter stages of his illness. (www.diabetes.org)
