Jackie Lenzel Spikes, III

April 20, 2001 - December 14, 2020

Jackie Lenzel Spikes, III was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on April 20, 2001 to the late Jackie Spikes, Jr. and Janice Denise Sowell.

As a baby, Jackie was adopted and reared by his Paternal grandmother, ZADIE Mae Spikes, and remained with his adopted mother, paternal grandmother, until his untimely passing on December 14, 2020 at Our Lady of the Angels hospital located in Bogalusa, La.

At the tender age of 5, under his paternal grandmother’s loving Christian guidance and influence, Jackie joined and was Baptized at Ford’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, under the leadership of Reverend Edward Mark, Jr. Jackie was an active Church member and sang in the youth choir until the arrival of the Coronavirus Pandemic...

Jackie attended Varnado High School and was an Honor Student that also played the Tuba instrument in the Band. Graduating from High School in 2019, Jackie continued to further his education by attending Northshore Technical Community College of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Jackie leaves to cherish his memories, adopted mother and Paternal grandmother whom raised him from a baby, Zadie Mae Spikes of Angie, Louisiana; a biological mother, Janice Denise Sowell of Slidell, Louisiana; two sisters, Airea Forbes and Airrekia Sowell; two brothers, John Forbes, Jr. and Demetric Sowell, all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; a special friend, Lakesha Michell, of Bogalusa, LA; a goddaughter, Haisley Michell; three uncles, Deacon Darren Lee (Tanya) (Lil Bit) of Slidell, Louisiana, Derrick Lee (Man) of Angie, Louisiana, and Kenneth (Arynel) Spikes of Bogalusa, LA; and a special god aunt, Yvonne Mondy-Johnson of Slidell, Louisiana.

Preceding him in death was his Father, Jackie Spikes, Jr; Maternal grandmother, Janie Lee Peters; Aunt, Cynthia Lee; Paternal Great Grandmother, Della Spikes; Great uncles, Gary Lee, Troy Lee and Larry Lee.

A private funeral service Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00AM, Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa. Interment – Ford’s Chapel Cemetery.
