Loraine Lillian Dykes

March 7, 1933 - November 22, 2020

Loraine Lillian Dykes, age 87 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Sunday morning November 22, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church that enjoyed attending church services throughout the area. She loved making sure everyone was happy and had their needs taken care of. Loraine loved spending time with her family, especially during the Christmas season, which she always enjoyed. She also enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren every chance that she could. Loraine liked to sew and work outside in her flower gardens.

Survived by: Husband: Lairah Murray of Brookhaven; 4 Sons and Daughters in law: James Dykes of San Antonio, TX, Larry Dykes of Folsom, Rev. Richard and Barbie Dykes of Buna, TX, Rev. Jeff and Pam Dykes of Tulsa, OK; 2 Step-Daughters and Sons in law and their families: Sheila and Jeff Germany of Jackson, MS, Sandra and Roy Dearman of Columbia, MS; Grandchildren and Spouses: Bradley and Heather Dykes, John and Brandy Dykes, Christina Dykes, Pokey and Colleen Dykes, Nicholas and Brandy Dykes, Bethany and Thomas Hill, Benjamin and Mary Kate Dykes, Rebekah Dykes, Breana Dykes; Great-grandchildren: Kayden Dykes, Annabella Dykes, Genevive Dykes, Reeves Dykes, Hazel Dykes, Gabe Lenel, Annie Dykes, Layla Dykes, Molly Dykes, Evangeline Dykes, Blaine Dykes; Brother and Sister in law: Ellis Goings, Jr. and Maxine Goings of Franklinton; Sister: Claudine Steed of Mandeville; Sister in law: Marie Conner of North Carolina; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her first husband Rev. Melvin L. Dykes, father Kirby Emfinger, mother and step-father Vernie Foy Goings and Ellis Goings, Sr., sisters Martha Barber and Louise Baham.

Visitation will be at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church (28101 Nobles Cemetery Road, Franklinton, LA) on Monday November 23rd from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday after 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Dykes, Rev. Richard Dykes, Rev. Richard Dykes, Jr., Rev. Rusty Barber, Rev. Jarrett Williams, Rev. Willie Holland and Rev. Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
