Dale "Turtle Man" Ryals
February 23, 1953 - June 20, 2020



Dale "Turtle Man" Ryals, age 67 and a resident of Franklinton, died early Saturday morning June 20, 2020 at his home. He was a longtime truck driver for many companies through the years, most recently for Fornea 5 Lumber. Dale went by the CB handle “Turtle Man” and that’s how he was known to most everyone including his family. His favorite hobbies were driving his truck and of course spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survived by: Wife of 32 years: Mary Davis Ryals of Franklinton; Son and Daughter in law: Kelvin and Kally Freeman of Newport, TN; Daughter: Barbara Ann Freeman of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Vera Freeman and fiancé Mike Baham, Jay Freeman, Jonathan Freeman, Thomas Freeman, Madeline Grunblatt, Valerie Sumrall, Stacy Sumrall; 6 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandchild; Brother: Ronnie Ryals of Amite; Niece: Renea Ryals; Also numerous coworkers and friends.

He was preceded in death very recently by his son Randy Freeman and parents Hubert Ryals and Eva Valancie Ryals.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday June 21st from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Rev. Keith Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
