Riverside Medical Center Message on Washington Parish Covid-19 Case

"This morning we were informed of an individual with a Washington Parish address has tested

positive for Covid-19. This patient is being treated outside the parish and the positive test was determined outside the parish. Louisiana Office of Public Health will do contact tracers to identify anyone who may have come into contact with the patient who tested positive for Covid-19.

At this time Riverside Medical Center has tested several patients presenting with symptoms. Currently, none of these patients have tested positive for Covid-19. It is important to remember all of the information you have been provided related to reducing the risk of infection. Please remember to wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, to cover your mouth if you have to sneeze or cough, if you have a fever self quarantine and contact your physician. They will instruct you on your next steps. Also, remember to practice social distancing and reduce unnecessary travel. Due to the mechanism of this virus transmission, it is important to follow the guidelines above to prevent spread.

The citizens of Washington Parish are still at low risk for developing Covid-19.We will continue to provide information as it is made available to us as well as treat the patients of our community to the best of our abilities. Continue to pray for those who have been affected by Covid-19."
