Jewel Morgan
December 14, 1936 - September 10, 2019



Jewel Morgan, age 82 and a resident of Franklinton, died Tuesday night September 10, 2019 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was a longtime member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was retired as a former supervisor with Southern Natural Gas after a 38 year career. Jewel was a former member of the Louisiana Army National Guard and a huge New Orleans Saints fan. He loved to travel to Branson, Missouri with his wife as often as they could. Jewel also liked to raise his roosters and watch the tomatoes grow in his garden each year.

Survived by: Wife of 63 years: Frances Bryant Morgan; Son and Daughter in law: Rodney and Connie Morgan; 4 Grandchildren and Spouses: Chasity and Sammie Gerald of Franklinton, Chris and La’Chee Morgan, Hannah and Jim Miller all of Covington, Marissa and Lane Adams of Angie; Great-grandchildren: Ali Sharp, Carson Gerald, Camryn Branch, Madison Morgan, Caleb Morgan, Brayden Morgan, Kinsley Morgan, Bry’Anna Morgan, Colton Morgan, Axel Adams; Step-great-grandchildren: Jesse Miller, Connor Miller, Ashley Gerald; Also numerous other family members and many friends

He was preceded in death by his son Ronald Morgan, grandsons Sonny Mitchell Morgan, Alijah Blue Morgan, parents Alonzo Morgan and Marie Cooper Morgan, father in law and mother in law George W. Bryant and Noema Thomas Bryant.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday September 12th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Eld. Donnie Broom, Eld. J.W. Graves, Eld. Lerand Hunt and Rev. John Mark Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
