Dale McElveen
November 19, 1940 - September 13, 2017

DALE MCELVEEN, AGE 76 and a resident of Mt. Hermon died early Wednesday morning September 13, 2017 at his home. He was a loving husband, supportive father and a good provider for his family and friends. Dale began his career as a carpenter/general contractor, before serving as an overseer of Silver Creek Ranch for 15 years. He was currently a hard-working and dedicated employee of Ace Hardware of Franklinton for the last 12 years, where he enjoyed visiting with and helping the many customers he met each day. Dale was also the secretary of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
Survived by: Wife of 50 years: Annie Ruth Miller McElveen of Mt. Hermon; Daughter and Son in law: Jennifer Jill and Jody McDaniel of Kentwood; Son: Chadwick Dale McElveen of Covington; 3 Grandsons: Peyton McDaniel, Landon McDaniel, Morgan McDaniel; Step-father: R.J. Frazier; 4 Sisters and Brothers in law: Ruth and Stanley Horning, Jo and Murray Joe Duncan, Ann and Mike Henley, Deborah Frazier; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Leroy and Emelda McElveen, Sidney Frazier; Also numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents Houston McElveen and Iona Mae McElveen Frazier, sisters Faye Morgan, Dorothy Schilling, Opal Williams, father in law and mother in law Ollie B. Miller and Agnes R. Miller, brothers in law Ronald Schilling, Charles Williams and Ronnie Baker, brothers in law and sisters in law Dorman and Marjorie Miller, Ansel and Dorothy Stinson, nephews Dewey Morgan, Andy Williams, Robbie McElveen, Jeffrey Miller and niece Jackie Williams.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday September 14th from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 10 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Galloway and Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
