Alex Wilson has turned himself in and is being held at the Washington Parish Sheriffs Office.
Patrolman First Class James Harper conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday (August 15, 2017) on a white Ford Mustang for disobeying a stop sign. The driver, Alex Wilson of Franklinton, handed PFC. Harper his driver's information and then fled the stop at a high rate of speed driving through school traffic. Wilson lost control and crashed into a sewage lift station at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Mason Street. Wilson then fled the scene on foot.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, a clear plastic gallon freezer bag was located which contained approximately 98 grams of suspected marijuana.
A warrant was issued charging Wilson for disobeying a stop sign, aggravated flight from an officer, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal damage to property - felony, possession with intent to distribute a schedule 1 narcotic - marijuana, resisting an officer and failure to report an accident.
